Musket Transport and its sister truck driving school, Commercial Heavy Equipment Training Ltd. (CHET), are proud to announce their Pride Event & CHET Showcase taking place on Wednesday, June 25, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the CHET Burlington Campus at 1151 Heritage Rd #1149.
This vibrant and inclusive event invites 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizations and allies from across the Halton and Hamilton regions to connect, celebrate, and explore careers in the transportation and logistics industry.
Founded in 1997, CHET is a registered Career College offering comprehensive Class A (tractor-trailer) and Class D (straight truck/dump truck) training programs, tailored to individual learning needs. As both an educational institution and part of a leading private carrier, Musket and CHET are committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring equitable access to rewarding careers in trucking.
"The trucking industry has long been perceived as male-dominated, but there is no place for toxic masculinity or exclusion in today's workforce," says Sophia Sniegowski Begidzhanov, Corporate Communications Officer for Musket Transport. "At Musket and CHET, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment that welcomes individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
As both a private carrier and a recognized trucking career college, we actively uphold Canada's equity and inclusion standards—ensuring that every individual has equal access to opportunity, respect, and fair treatment. We believe that driving is not just a profession, but a lifestyle choice, and no personal identity should ever determine your success or earning potential in this industry.
This Pride Month—and at our upcoming Pride Event and Trucking Showcase—we invite you to help us challenge outdated perceptions, celebrate diversity, and drive real change. Together, we can build a future for trucking that's inclusive, proud, and empowering for all."
Guests can look forward to an exciting lineup of activities and community connection. Explore our AZ and DZ training vehicles up close during hands-on equipment demos, offering a firsthand look at the powerful machines behind modern transportation. Engage in inclusive networking within a welcoming space designed to build meaningful relationships and spark new collaborations.
Plus, if you already have your AZ licence, don't miss the opportunity to meet CHET's driver management team and connect with our Burlington-based recruiter about open positions with Musket Transport. DZ licence holders are also encouraged to attend and meet CHET's network of DZ employer partners and Musket Transport vendors to explore potential career pathways.
This event is part of Musket and CHET's wider mission to promote inclusive education, workforce diversity, and career advancement opportunities in transportation—an industry ready to move forward with Pride.
