In a time when global instability and shifting trade dynamics dominate headlines, there's one thing we can proudly say this Canada Day: Musket Transport is—and always has been—unapologetically Canadian.
A Stand for Local Jobs and Training
At Musket, we don't just operate in Canada. We invest in it. While many logistics companies are sending operations offshore to lower costs, we've doubled down on our Canadian roots. We train and hire locally, offering fair wages and real career growth. From our drivers to our mechanics to our office personnel, every employee is part of a system that supports Canadian families, communities, and futures.
"In logistics, speed matters. So does integrity. While many of our competitors have moved key operations offshore, we've doubled down on Canada. We believe that the people moving the goods into our neighborhoods should live in those same neighborhoods. Supporting Canadian families, paying Canadian wages, and building a resilient Canadian supply chain isn't just a patriotic decision—it's the right one." - Michael Brodie, VP of Sales, Intermodal Division
Driven by Canada. Powered by Canadians.
Musket was founded by immigrants, and that story continues today. The majority of our workforce—including the largest group of all, our drivers—are immigrants or refugees. You'll also find this diverse spirit in our garage and office teams. Because being Canadian isn't about where you're from. It's about who you stand with, what you build, and how you show up for your community.
Our training arm, CHET (Commercial Heavy Equipment Training), was born from a need to support new Canadians in building careers in transportation. CHET helps overcome the industry's infamous catch-22: "you can't get hired without experience, and you can't get experience without getting hired." By training and hiring directly from CHET, we not only close that gap—we pave the road forward.
We also partner with outstanding organizations like Covenant House, Youth Without Shelter, and The Salvation Army to provide grants for individuals who need a second chance—or a first shot. This includes our AZ Grant for Women, which continues to break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
"At Musket and CHET, we believe that meaningful partnerships with non-profits and charitable organizations are essential to advancing our corporate citizenship goals. As both a trainer and employer, we recognize the unique opportunity we have to support individuals seeking a purposeful career path. Whether it's removing financial barriers to entry or building innovative programs that provide real-world experience for aspiring drivers, we are committed to delivering a level of care and excellence that exceeds industry standards. We understand that our strength lies in the wellbeing of the communities we serve, and we take our role in nurturing these relationships seriously." - Sophia Sniegowski Begidzhanov, Corporate Communications Officer for Musket Transport
Community-Focused by Design
Musket has always been more than a transportation company. From our early days, we've supported cultural events, sponsored employee-led initiatives, and provided in-kind logistics support for non-profits and charities across Canada. In an industry with razor-thin margins, we still prioritize giving back—because the true value of a business is in how it serves.
Internally, we nurture connection and creativity. Company events celebrate the hidden talents of our people—whether they're painters, poets, bakers, or builders. These moments unite our drivers, office staff, and garage teams in something bigger than any single shift or load: a shared sense of belonging.
35 Years of Canadian Grit
As Musket approaches its 35th anniversary, we're looking ahead with clear purpose. We're committed to evolving, growing, and continuing to reflect the Canadian values we were built on: diversity, inclusion, fairness, resilience, and pride.
Yes, transportation is a lifestyle. It's not for everyone. But it is for anyone who's ready to take the wheel—regardless of their background. And Musket is here to make sure that opportunity exists, and that it's supported every kilometer of the way.
"As a proudly Canadian company, we've been handling cross-border transportation since day one. With over 30 years of proven, reliable service, we've built a reputation for safety, consistency, and on-time delivery. We don't outsource — we hire and train local drivers and build our dispatch operations team right here at home. That local knowledge and commitment ensure fast response times and dependable performance. Our experienced drivers and well-maintained trailers are key to the long-term trust we've earned from our customers over decades." - Niloufar Khosravaneh, Musket Transport Trailer Division Supervisor
On the Road Ahead
This Canada Day, we're not just waving flags. We're backing up our values with action. Every job kept in Canada, every driver we train, every community we support—it all adds up to a homegrown logistics ecosystem that Canadians can be proud of.
- Because we were built here. We train here.
- Because Canada comes first. Always.
- Because we're Musket. And we're 100% Canadian.
